|one that isn't afraid of a little heat ....|
I took a few photos of some of the steps I used to make this a summertime goodie....I just devoured mine...I am sure yours wont last long either! I started with a can of crescent rolls .... and a 375 oven
CRESCENT ROLLS - 8 count
BLACKBERRIES - 1 CUP fresh
SUGAR -3/4 cup
ALMOND EXTRACT - 1 teaspoon
FLOUR - 3 TBL
CREAM CHEESE - 8 oz (I used neufchatel cheese)
TOPPING: powdered sugar, 1 teas. vanilla, milk, butter....
roll out the dough making sure to place on a foil covered pan..... I buttered mine but I think that is optional.....
kitchenaid mixer handled all of the ingredients , I withheld the blackberries of course.... once well blended I put in center of rolled dough the entire length and left room all around the edges.
BLACKBERRIES (about a cup) were added to the top of the cream cheese
I cut some diagonal "cuts" all along the edges of the dough and folded them inward alternating sides...and then pinched the ends...
Pop in oven for about 15 minutes or until golden brown
make the topping..... just mix with any mixer the ingredients listed above or use your own favorite glaze / topping recipe..... once the strudel is cooled spoon over top... and thats it!
these photos are not "pro" by any stretch of the imagination....but I think you can see how easily it is to make this FABULOUS DESSERT!!!
COST TO MAKE OUT OF POCKET? um ZERO..... I had EVERYTHING here in my cabinets except the FREE blackberries that were picked roadside.....
OH YEAH BABE!
